"Ariadne, it’s all over the news! They think you’re dead! And your face, it’s all scratched up!” Sera all but ran into the other room, coming back a moment later with a small first-aid kit. “Here, let’s get those sorted.”
“Sera, you’re amazing,” Ariadne said, closing her eyes as Sera began to dab at the cuts on her cheek with an antiseptic wipe. “What would I do without you?”
“Obviously, whatever you were doing this evening,” Sera scolded. “Where have you been?”
Ariadne makes her escape from the assassination attempt and finally mends some bridges with her handmaiden. But as the full scope of the political game on Earth becomes clear, can they do anything to stop the oncoming war?
